GENERATOR OR AUXILIARY ENGINE ALARM TESTING ONBOARD

LEVEL & FLOW ALARMS
F.O. LEAKAGE ALARM
Lift switch manually
C.W. LEAKAGE IN GENERATOR ALARM
Supply water on both units to test switch OR open drain plug located at the bottom of the leak detecting box and lift the limit switch through the small blue hole.
SUMP TANK LOW LEVEL ALARM
Open sounding box and lift cover
CYLINDER L.O. NON-FLOW ALARM
Switch off Cylinder L.O. pump during start-up
PRE-LUBRICATING OIL LEVEL ALARM
Stop Pre-lubricating pump and wait for alarm (takes about 5-10 minutes)

PRESSURE ALARMS
STARTING AIR INLET PRESSURE ALARM
Close Starting Air valve and drain air from the ball v/v at the G/E
L.O. FILTER DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE HIGH ALARM
Apply pressure on the High-Pressure transmitter
F.O. FILTER DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE HIGH ALARM
Apply pressure on the High-Pressure transmitter

TEMPERATURE ALARMS
H.T. WATER OUTLET HIGH-TEMPERATURE ALARM (will cause shut down)
Warm up sensor till above alarm setting (98°C)

PRESSURE TRANSMITTERS
Check if value in ACONIS is corresponding with value on pressure test pump as alarms are inhibited when engine is not running
H.T. WATER PRESSURE                           1.50 bar = Low-Pressure Alarm
L.O. INLET PRESSURE                             2.80 bar = Low-Pressure Alarm
F.O. INLET PRESSURE                             4.00 bar = Low-Pressure Alarm
NOZZLE C.W. INLET PRESSURE           1.50 bar = Low-Pressure Alarm
CHARGE AIR PRESSURE                        4.25 bar = High Pressure
As no alarm will be triggered, check if E1 light in Local Control Cabinet turns red @ 4.25 bar to assure functioning of pressure transmitter

TEMPERATURE TRANSMITTERS
AIR temperature generator              120°C = High-Temperature Alarm
H.T. WATER temperature                 95°C   = High-Temperature Alarm
L.O. INLET temperature                   70°C   = High-Temperature Alarm

OTHER TRANSMITTERS
Oil Mist Detectors

TO BE DONE WITH RUNNING ENGINE:
L.O. INLET LOW-PRESSURE ALARM (will cause shut down)
Connect pressure pump and slowly turn down knob to release pressure slowly, check pressure at shutdown

OVER SPEED TRIP
Manually lift fuel rack, check if speed measuring unit over speed shut down and governor                                                                max. speed shut down kicks in
